Dr. Kristen Rought

Dr. Kristen Rought joined our team in early 2022. She graduated from Louisiana State University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2018. Since then, she has had a fair amount of experience in the veterinary world. She brings her expertise to canine and feline medicine and surgery.

She prides herself in building relationships with her patients and clients and being as open and honest as possible. She also understands the importance of the human-animal bond and intends to continue helping it grow stronger! Her favorite topics in veterinary medicine are oncology and clinical pathology. Dr. Rought loves traveling, dancing, scrapbooking, and spending time with her family and friends.

Dr. Alexandra Belair

Dr. Belair was born and raised in Belle Chasse, LA. As long as she can remember, Dr. Belair has been surrounded by animals! Her entire family is lovingly known as the “animal people.” Dr. Belair’s loving companions are her English Mastiff Lottie Busby and Labrador Retriever Chaos. Dr. Belair began preparing for her ideal job by volunteering: in middle and high school at PAWS (Plaquemines Animal Welfare Society), while at LSU with “Hearts and Hooves” therapeutic horseback riding and during summer breaks at the Audubon Zoo! “Dr. B” graduated from Louisiana State University in 2013 and then went on to Ross University where she graduated with a Doctorate degree of Veterinary Medicine in 2017. Her professional focus includes dermatology, physical therapy, and geriatric care. She is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association and the Southeast Louisiana Veterinary Association.

Alexis

Practice Manager

Alexis is our practice manager. She previously worked as a receptionist but left us for greener pastures. Unfortunately, that pasture was filled with cow pies, so she is back! Alexis loves spending time with her 1-year-old daughter and family. She loves animals, but this crazy girl has no pets. I’m sure we can fix that!

Michelle

Receptionist

Michelle is our longest-standing receptionist, or sitting instead, at Acadiana West Animal Clinic. She has been with us for over 20 years, and we are blessed to know her two sons – one since birth! Michelle likes dancing and schmoozing with our clients.

Angela

Veterinary Assistants

Angela is one of our wonderful veterinary assistants and has been with Acadiana West Animal Clinic for over 20 years. She is married with one child. Angela loves Star Wars and video games and video games and Star Wars.

GayLynn

Veterinary Assistant

GayLynn is also one of our amazing veterinary assistants and has been with us for over 16 years. She has been married for 15 years and has 3 kids. When GayLynn isn’t working, she’s either fishing or spending time with family and friends.

Elia

Veterinary Technician

Elia is a registered veterinary technician who pulls double duty working reception. She works full-time to support her habit of spoiling her nieces and nephews and traveling the world.

Allie

Veterinary Assistants

Allie is one of our veterinary assistants with over 14 years of experience. She has a young daughter, three dogs, and four cats. Allie is an outdoor girl who loves playing with her child and fishing.

Kayla

Veterinary Assistant

Kayla is one of our veterinary assistants. She has been with us for over 4 years and has learned so much! Kayla likes hanging out with friends when she isn’t working. Maybe Vet Tech School is in her future!

Amy

Vet Assistant

Amy is one of our veterinary assistants. She has been a part of our work family for 3 years. She loves animals and has one sweet fur baby, Nala. Amy loves to spend time with her daughter when she is not at work.

Corinne

Vet Assistant

Corinne is one of our veterinary assistants. She has two beautiful pets, one being a bunny. She enjoys relaxing at home and hanging out with friends when she’s not working.
